New York, NY – June 19, 2012 – Scholastic Media, a division of Scholastic Inc, the global children’s publishing, education and media company, announced today that its popular animated series WordGirl®, produced by its animation studio Soup2Nuts, was awarded the Emmy® Award for "Outstanding Writing in Animation," in recognition of WordGirl’s mastery of the English language and the series' witty use of characters and storylines to convey entertaining, educational vocabulary lessons.
