The State Library of Louisiana to offer Scholastic BookFlix®, TrueFlix®, and ScienceFlix® to Support Student Learning

 New York, NY - January 7, 2025 - The State Library of Louisiana announces today it will provide communities across the state access to educational resources from Scholastic, the global children’s publishing, education, and media company, including BookFlix®, TrueFlix®, and ScienceFlix®. 

 
Public libraries will offer these Scholastic resources to provide learning support and resources to thousands of young learners: 
  • BookFlix pairs animated storybooks with nonfiction texts to foster early literacy and a love of reading for ages 3–8. 
  • TrueFlix enhances science and social studies curricula for ages  8–11 with multimedia units that build content knowledge and critical skills. 
  • ScienceFlix engages students ages 10-15 with STEM-focused units and hands-on projects to deepen their understanding of science concepts.

Meg Placke, Louisiana State Librarian, said: “We’re excited to add these services from Scholastic to the Louisiana Library Connection. We have a strong collection of encyclopedias, magazines, newspapers, and other databases. These interactive science, social studies, and reading lessons from Scholastic are a great addition for young people from grade school through high school.”
