Teen Magazine Announces Video Contest to Celebrate Its 10th Anniversary

New York, NY (October 26, 2009) – The New York Times UPFRONT®, the leading teen magazine covering national news edited and published by Scholastic in conjunction with The New York Times, announces its 10th Anniversary Video Contest.  UPFRONT is inviting junior high and high school students from across the country to create a video up to 3 minutes long showing what they think are the Top 10 News Stories of 2009. 

One video will receive the Grand Prize: a bundle of products customized for the winning classroom, plus a year-long classroom subscription to Upfront.  Nine runners-up will each win a year-long classroom subscription to Upfront, and all 10 winning videos will be featured on the Scholastic Teens channel on YouTube (www.youtube.com/scholasticteens).  Videos will be judged on accuracy, creativity and persuasiveness.  Entries must be received by December 14, 2009.  Winners will be announced in late December.
