Scholastic Book Clubs ClassroomsCare Inducts More Than 10,000 Classes to Hall of Fame

NEW YORK, N.Y. — America's kids are embracing a challenge set forth by Scholastic Book Clubs and its Ambassadors of Reading, Eli and Peyton Manning earlier this Fall. At the halfway point in Scholastic Book Clubs' ClassroomsCare read-to-give program, children across the country are exceeding expectations to have their class read 100 books by December 18th.

More Than 27 Million Children Have Read for Kids in Need Through ClassroomsCare

NEW YORK, N.Y. (May 20, 2009) – More than 27 million kids have shown they care – just by reading a book.

This is the number of children who have read for a program called ClassroomsCare, created by Scholastic Book Clubs in 2001 to help teach kids about the importance of reading and empower them to give back to their communities. Scholastic Book Clubs is a division of Scholastic (NASDAQ: SCHL), the global children’s publishing, education and media company.

NEW YORK, NY — Aug. 27, 2008 — Each fall, millions of kids nationwide read their hearts out. Through the Scholastic Book Clubs’ ClassroomsCare program, participating classrooms are asked to read 100 books, and, in turn, Scholastic Book Clubs donates up to 1 million new books to kids in need. And this year, the program has gone to a whole new level.
