Rebooted Series Makes its International Debut at MIPCOM and will be Available to Global Markets Starting January 2020; Debuts Fall 2019 in the U.S. on Amazon Prime Video and PBS KIDS

New York, NY, October 9, 2018 Scholastic Entertainment, the media division of Scholastic, has named 9 Story Distribution International as the global distributor for Clifford The Big Red Dog®, the upcoming relaunch of its beloved, Emmy-winning animated preschool series. Based on the best-selling children’s book series by Norman Bridwell, and published by Scholastic featuring the iconic larger-than-life dog and his best friend Emily Elizabeth, the show, to be produced by Scholastic Entertainment, will make its debut among the international broadcast community at MIPCOM (9 Story, Stand #R7.E75) in Cannes, from October 15–18, 2018. The first 13 episodes of the new Clifford The Big Red Dog series will be available to air outside the U.S. beginning January 2020. In the U.S., the series will premiere on Amazon Prime Video and PBS KIDS in fall 2019.

The NEW Clifford The Big Red Dog will feature 39 x 22-minute episodes and showcase new adventures, new characters, and fresh and colorful locations on Birdwell Island as well as a new art style and an original song in every episode. And for the first time, Clifford and Emily Elizabeth will speak to each other! Emily Elizabeth has been realized as a stronger and more independent female character to inspire today’s girls. With Clifford-sized humor and a curriculum focused on imaginative play, early literacy, and social-emotional skills, the series will engage young viewers as it helps reinforce important developmental concepts. Clifford The Big Red Dog is produced by Scholastic Entertainment. 100 Chickens and 9 Story/Brown Bag Films are on board to help bring this great big series to life.

A hit with kids and families everywhere, the original Clifford The Big Red Dog series was a BIG international success. The show was sold into more than 100 territories, airing for five to ten years in many markets. Today there are more than 133 million Clifford books in print in 16 different languages.
