Erin M. Berger Named Senior Vice President of Marketing, Scholastic Trade Publishing

New York, NY (June 3, 2019) — Scholastic (NASDAQ: SCHL), the global children’s publishing, education and media company, today announced the appointment of Erin M. Berger as Senior Vice President of Marketing, for the Scholastic Trade Publishing division, effective June 17, 2019. Berger joins Scholastic from the Penguin Young Readers division of Penguin Random House where she was VP, Creative Marketing Director and has held various marketing positions since 2002. In her new role, Erin Berger will oversee marketing, publicity and digital marketing for all imprints of the Trade Publishing division, reporting to Ellie Berger, President of Scholastic Trade Publishing.

During her tenure at Penguin, Erin crafted innovative marketing campaigns for some of the biggest bestsellers of the last decade, including The Fault in Our Stars and Turtles All the Way Down by John Green, Legend by Marie Lu, An Ember in the Ashes by Sabaa Tahir, If I Stay by Gayle Forman, The 5th Wave by Rick Yancey, The Day the Crayons Quit written by Drew Daywalt and illustrated by Oliver Jeffers; new and backlist series like Llama Llama by Anna Dewdney, Theodore Boone by John Grisham, and The Last Kids on Earth by Max Brallier; and anniversary campaigns for beloved brands like The Very Hungry Caterpillar.

Prior to Penguin, Berger worked in the marketing department of Simon & Schuster Children’s Publishing and she holds a B.A. in English and Spanish from Middlebury College.
